Katherine Byrne Is Back

KTP:n naisjoukkue sai todellisen ilouutisen, kun keskikenttäpelaaja Katy Byrne palasi joukkueen vahvuuteen. Hän on ollut joukkueensa tukipilareita niin nousutaistelussa kuin myös ensimmäisellä Ykkösen kaudella.

Seura sai hankittua Katyn paluuta varten kumppaneita, jotka halusivat sijoittaa naisjoukkueen pelaajistoon. ilman tätä ns. budjetin ulkopuolista tukea ei hänen paluunsa olisi ollut mahdollista. Katy tunnetaan Kotkassa periksiantamattomana taistelijana, joka ei jätä yhtään tilannetta kesken. Myös hänen kokemuksensa on kullanarvoista nuorelle joukkueelle. Katy sopimus kattaa kauden 2024.

Olin todella helpottunut, kun sain tietää mahdollisuudesta uudelleen kiinnittää Katy joukkueeseen. Tiedän mitä häneltä voi odottaa ja nyt on paljon helpompi edetä joukkueen rakentamisessa, kuvailee tuntojaan päävalmentaja Jari-Pekka Gummerus.

FC KTP women’s team received a positive news as Katy Byrne was announced to come back after all. She has been one of those foundations on which to rely on when playing for promotion 2022 and during the first season in Ykkönen 2023.

The club found some beneficiaries who wanted to invest in women’s soccer and especially to FC KTP women’s team. Without that, so called “outside of the budget money” all this could have not happened. Katy is known for her fighting spirit in Kotka, she never gives up before the game is over. Also, her experience is worth of gold for the young team. Katy’s contract covers the season 2024.
